Memories
What LOKI remembers about you permanently, and how to view, delete or switch it off.
With long-term memory, LOKI remembers facts and preferences beyond individual chats, such as your role, your preferred language or a project you work on regularly. That way, you do not have to explain such things again in every chat.
Memories are only available if your administrator has assigned the Long-term memory tool to your groups.
How a memory is created
LOKI saves a memory
- when you explicitly ask it to, for example “Remember that I work in purchasing”, or
- when you mention something that is useful in the long term, for example “Please always answer me in English”.
You will then see the “Remember” step in the working steps above the answer. LOKI does not save one-off details of a conversation, and it is instructed not to save sensitive data that you have not asked it to. A memory is a short sentence of at most 500 characters.
LOKI takes your 50 most recent memories into account in every new chat. Other people do not see your memories.
View and delete memories
- Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Select Memories.
Under Saved memories, the page shows each memory with its date.
- Delete one memory: Click the bin icon next to it. The memory is deleted immediately, without asking for confirmation.
- Delete all: Click Delete all and confirm. This cannot be undone.
You cannot edit memories. If one is no longer correct, delete it and tell LOKI in the chat what applies instead.
Back to chat takes you back to the chat.
Switch memory off
- Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and select Tools.
- Switch Long-term memory off.
After that, LOKI does not save any new memories and no longer uses the existing ones either. They remain visible but greyed out on the Memories page until you delete them. If you switch memory back on, LOKI uses them again.
If your administrator removes the tool
If your administrator takes the Long-term memory tool away from your groups, LOKI no longer saves anything new, but still takes memories that have already been saved into account. If you want LOKI to stop knowing something, delete the memory.
