Managing chats
Find, rename, pin and delete earlier chats.
All your chats are listed on the left in the sidebar under Your Chats. The list shows only your own chats; other people's chats never appear there.
The chat list
- Pinned chats are at the very top and carry a pin.
- All other chats are sorted and grouped by last activity: Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days and Older.
- A dot next to a name in bold means “New message”: the chat has changed since you last opened it on this device, for example because you continued writing in another tab or on another device.
Click Your Chats to collapse and expand the list. You close the sidebar with the icon at the top right (Close sidebar). When it is collapsed, a narrow bar with New Chat and your profile picture remains.
If you reload the page, LOKI opens the chat you were last in.
Search chats
- Click in the Search chats... field at the top of the sidebar.
- Enter a term. LOKI searches the names and the content of all your chats and shows the matching passage under each result.
- Open a chat from the list of results. The term is highlighted in the chat. Above the input field, a small bar shows how many matches there are; use the arrows to jump from one match to the next.
Use the × in the search field to end the search.
Rename, pin or delete a chat
Move your mouse over a chat in the list. The ⋮ menu appears on the right with these entries:
Enter the new name under New chat name and confirm with Change or Enter. An empty name is ignored.
If you do not rename it, LOKI automatically gives each chat a suitable name a few seconds after the first question.
Pin moves a chat to the area at the very top, where it stays regardless of the date. Useful for chats you keep coming back to. Unpin takes it out again.
You change the order of pinned chats by dragging a chat up or down with the mouse. On touch devices, press and hold the chat briefly and then drag it. With the keyboard, select the chat, press Space and move it with the arrow keys. You cannot move chats while a search is active.
Confirm the question “Do you really want to delete the chat?” with Delete. The chat disappears from your list, and any ratings you gave in this chat are removed.
You cannot restore a deleted chat.
Delete all chats
- Move your mouse over the Your Chats heading.
- Click the ⋮ menu next to it.
- Select Delete all chats and confirm.
This cannot be undone. Pinned chats are deleted as well.
